Campus orientation scavenger hunts in the browser

Bring new students together around a reusable campus route with map, camera and GPS missions, without asking every player to install an app.

Help a new group explore together

Playonder turns a route around a campus into a team game played in a phone browser. Students open a link, join a team and follow checkpoints. Camera and GPS missions make the places themselves part of the activity: a landmark to recognise, a view to match or a question to answer on the spot.

The same route can be reused with a new group. This makes orientation week, admissions visits or an alumni event a different organising problem from commissioning a one-off consumer city game.

A campus route you can maintain

  1. Choose the stops that new students need to discover: meeting places, landmarks or spaces relevant to your programme.
  2. Build checkpoints and missions in the organiser’s web admin. Use your own photos to train recognition for appropriate landmarks.
  3. Test the route and the participant devices on location, including GPS and connectivity.
  4. Share the player link, follow team progress and review the results.
  5. Edit the route or questions before the next intake instead of rebuilding the whole experience.

What students and organisers need

Players need a smartphone with camera, location services and mobile data. They do not install a separate game app. The published player flow uses a phone number and team name to join; participant communication and data requirements should be agreed before the event.

Organisers need the route, mission content and access to the places being used. For an accessible activity, agree the route and alternatives for participants who cannot complete a particular camera or movement task. Do not assume an offline or device-free experience.

Start with a scoped campus pilot

Tell us the campus, audience, intended date and the places you want students to discover. The first route is scoped with you; price and preparation time depend on stops, players and available content. Current public examples include browser product tests, not a claimed paid orientation deployment at a named university.

Plan your pilot

Tell us about your audience, location, intended date and route. We will scope the next step with you.
